Yeh Dil Maange More Tande ka Tadka

Well, I had made a comment for “One ‘Pesti’-cola to go please” @ Scribez! And I just thought that the comment was worth making a post outta :-D !!

Premise: After having read this, my hands are itching to type some ideas and a very long comment came up! Just made a post outta it, as I thought I really had something to say about the same :-D !!

Well, the deal is simple! The Indian Government wants something for its people to discuss and not concentrate on what it’s doing. Just check it out, I am sure some minor policy change is going to effect, which is gonna fetch some politicians quite a bit of mooolah!! Watch out for it, carefully!! And lemme know :-) !

About this -

“…The last time I checked INDIA was a democratic nation which mean I had a say in things and THAT for those of you who are slow to understand means if I want to drink some pesticide, you cant stop me! But now that democracy is not that good(coz of corruption etc etc) we’ll be banning that too i suppose! Geez! “

Democracy is not that good (coz of corruption etc etc), we’ll be banning that too I suppose! Geez!

ROTFLMAO!! Where did ya pick this guy from? Just to clear some misconceptions that might have been formed, if you read this sentence carefully, democracy cannot fall because of corruption. They are 2 different entities, yes having their effects on each other.

But, the Indian democracy is failing owing to the lackadaisical attitude of Indians. We are patriotic, but we are lazy as well to do anything about it other than blog about it! [No offense intended @ anyone]. When was the last time you actually did something about what you say! [I am including myself in this as well]

We scorn and well at that. But, we aren’t doing anything for our country [other than earning some revenue and eating outta it :-D ] Forget the country, how about the community?

Anyhoo, coming back to the topic of Cola. When the hell did this ever start? Yeah the same formula has been in use for quite a long time. It’s also accepted that cola is bad for health. Beer is also harmful for health. You don’t see the Government taking any action in banning alcohol. Mark it as harmful and cotinue selling it people, else India is just jeapordizing its own economy. Coke and Pepsi have definitely helped in the FDI and FII sects of the Indian economy, and it was after a ban that Coke actually came back to India!!

The repercussions of a ban on the other hand is a very interesting analysis! The Indian Cricket team and the BCCI are gonna lose quite a lotta money, and so are the Bollywood, Tollywood and what not actors and actresses.

If India is able to elicit the secret formula of Coke, from them, it’s gonna leak and then we are gonna get some Indian equivalents. In Kerala, the Palghat plant mite start operating after adhering to all the Palghat strikes gonna be organized against it, and come out Cacanut Caala, nammude Keralam stylenne. In Tamilnadu, you’ll see one of the Vijays doing a dappankutthu saying Ennada Sema style pa. Enna naan kudikkerein Pandi cola! You get the idea.

I’m all up for banning harmful products, and I am sure in this case, there mite be some as well. But, we are talking about India. The water in India might contain more pollutants in them than Coke or Pepsi. We have built up quite a defense mechanism internally for any pesticides people!! Chill, and enjoy Tande ka tadka coz u know Yeh Dil Mange More!!

World Cup teams – a *trospection

These past days have been awesome. Although, I have had very little sleep, I have been enjoying every bit of it, and I owe it all to the football world cup!!! Yeah, the FIFA '06!! TV watching has suddenly been timed starting 1830hrs till 0230 hours, when the last match concludes. 3 matches a day along with skipped dinners and umpteen conversations, discussions and rantings and bitchings. Some troubling observations that I have made.

  • Germany is going to be in trouble if it doesn't build up its defense. The first match shed some light into this. They have a tremendous offense. Power wrenching with Frings, Klose and soon to be added Ballack. They will be powerful!! But, they have to get their defense in line. They seemed waddled puppies, completely befundled by Costa Rica of all the people!! Just imagine what they would do against the stronger teams. Here they just had to manage Wanchope!!
  • England has chances of taking this world cup. They have one of the strongest mid fields there in play with Gerrard, Lampard, Beckham and Joe Cole. They just need someone to come and convert these playmakers' play into a goal. Rooney should be a good answer if he can get in! Their defense was OK, nothing phenomenal, but still they can hold their stead! Robinson was impressive :-) !
  • Ivory Coast creamed Argentina, at least according to me. Don't be fooled by the 1-0 victory of Argentina. It was only one fault of Ivory Coast, else Cote' D'Ivore was easily one of the most impressive teams I have seen. Drogba is a mean bull. He just keeps on and on… It's a pity that they couldn't score a leveler. It's a pity that they are teamed up in one of the toughest groups ever. It's a group where matches are gonna be a treat to watch!
  • Croatia… boy o boy!! They are going GOOD! Their match against Brazil was phenomenal. They were going with the ball as if Brazil – the defending champions were a 3rd class club. Beleive me when I say that y'day or rather today's match was shocking. Brazil were behaving like a bunch of baboons, completely disorganized! It was a National Geographic feature more than a World Cup match. They too deserved a leveler for their match against Brazil, despite the fact that they were playing without their captain, who was injured!
  • France v Switzerland was one of the most BORING matches I have ever seen. So much so, they actually put me to sleep!!
  • Togo – the team with no coach. They bloody mauled the Koreans! It was funny, for towards the end, the Koreans were more than scared to keep possession of the ball. It was a hilarious match. But, the free kick by the Koreans was AWESOME!

So, as I see it, the teams that should qualify are

- England [the team I am rooting for :-D ]
Go England Go!

- Germany [They have a chance and I am working for a German company ;-) ]
- Croatia [Seriously impressive]
- Cote D'Ivore [They DESERVE IT]
- Argentina [awesome game plan]
- Brazil [least fav after today's bungle]!!

Over ze weekend!

What’s up with the news channels and sports news channels today? The glory days wherein the sport was more important than the transcient player is gone! And the Indian media are experts at nullyfying promising talent by hyping about their performances! I mean, comon man! Leave ‘em alone! Why this outcry? It’s because of the ephemeral nature of form, building up someone’s ego and then DROPPING them like a hot pan!

The Indian media has glorified SO many people, I have lost count! I mean, just during the Paki ODIs, SriSanth was on a roll, so what happened? Sri Santh was hyped up and pepped up! Now it’s Munaf Patel, and SriSanth is totally outta the pic! I mean, chillax people!

The media has suddenly taken to gloryfying Dravid, but then again, Indian media rarely learns from its mistakes! It gives a wary sense that not much NEWS is being broadcasted these days!Consequently, the media is sensationalizing everything they get! So, the current cricket captain of India is reaching his 100th test… and BOOOM, there is a huge hullabahoo about it! Hehehe! Dravid better watch out! Sukhi’s observations were interesting, but then again people make mistakes and they have to learn about it! It’s when they Don’t learn that they are termed hard headed and assholes!

Dravid is kinda more of the learner! He DID of course learn from his mistakes everytime out on the field and is the single sole reason that he is the WALL! So some credit does lie into him! And of course, he gels well with ze Coach, Greggy!!

Well, the weekend was kinda nice! L’s mom and sis had come into Bengaluru [or is it Bengaluroo]! Did some studying, over the wordlists, catching glimpses of
-> India v England – where in yet again, India is edging towards a draw
-> Movies: Agent Cody Banks
Can’t Hardly Wait
Some more… which I can’t remember!

Sad News: Kimi crashed into the sidelines after a brave, yet stupid maneuver to overtake just at the 2nd corner in the 2nd race for this season at Sepang, Malaysia!

Thank God, that there are 16 more races left! Renault looking strong [and I hate it :-( ] and Ferrari didn’t even make a podium finish [Yippee ;-) ] It’s time they learnt that there are other people out there!

Impressive to note was the new guy – Nico Rosberg. That guy can drive and at times reminds me of the aggressive style of racing I so associate with Hakkinen and Kimi! I am sure that McLaren is looking out for him prolly for the next year. And yet another thing that impressed me – the Williams-Cosworth combo is definitely working better than the Williams-BMW!

Hats off to Button as well! Honda is definitely looking for Barichello to perform as well! I think barichello maybe having some trouble adjusting to the new car!!

Ferrari having automatic wing adjustment for better aerodynamics? Have to see what’s happening out there! Wonder what those guys are upto these days trying to cheat? I know a bit early to judge them, but c’mon I am pissed that Kimi is out! :-( !!

Overall, a productive interesting weekend! I got myself an HPM-70 finally! So, my phone is now totally rigged up!! I mean just connect my Philips headphones to it and wowee, check out the sound that my phone is giving me :-) !! Really cool!

Sports Galore!

This weekend saw some of the best sporting action I have seen in quite some time! The F1 season is back with a flourish! Many rule changes, including a damn confusing qualifying! I kinda agree with sukhi! Damn Friggin Mad Max! But anyhoo, gives many loopholes, which teams like Ferrari and Renault are gonna blow wide open to beat my fav team – McLaren! Why McLaren? Well coz of Kimi and McLaren always has been the better car, in terms of speed and pickup in ANY F1 season, save for the last to last!!

This season is gonna be awesome! That much I can assure you! And again, this time, Kimi has ALL the chances to finish 1st! Isn’t it kinda evident by his last place start and 3rd place finish? That man can drive! If Kimi joins Ferrari next year and Schumy is still with Ferrari, I can assure you, maybe just maybe, I may support Kimi for the driver’s championship!

And the other huge record breaking sporting event? Aaah, CRICKET, the Indian National pastime! Worst part – watching Australia v South Africa!

Reason: Record breaking score set by Australia for SA to chase – 434/4 in 50 overs

An unchoked SA, kicked ass and left Ponting stumped when they broke the highest total in an ODI [One Day International] to 438 with a ball to spare! Australia were just overwhelmed by the chase! I mean Ponting had to play the sportsman and not the bitch and give Herschey [Herschelle Gibbs] the Man of the Match award for his 175 off just 100 odd deliveries!!
sukhi tho disagres with me here! I think this was indeed one of the better matches seen by many!

Yes, cricket is about batting AND bowling AND fielding. This match had a lotta batting, evident of course by the humongous record breaking scores posted by both the teams!

It had average bowling, where in about 13 wickets fell in the whole match!

It did have a fair amount of fielding! Most of the wickets were catches and some fairly good at that [Eg. Mike Hussey's catch during the suddent onslaught of the Aussie bowlers, rather the sudden depression in the batting of South Africa]

The nailbiting finish just added to the whole package! Yes, maybe NOT THE best match in history, but for sure one of the good ones rite?

And yeah, in football, Man Utd. kicked New Castle Utd’s ass!! Yippee overall, really happy with what happened over the weekend!

On another note, I have registered to take my GRE on the 9th of May! Lord help me in studying the wordlists and prepping for this gruesome tryst in front of me! Will most probs be buying a laptop in a month as well!!
